THEATRE NEWS APRIL, 2006
Friday,
April 21 - Equity principle auditions are being held for the Boomerang
Theatre Company's upcoming season of plays, which include The Ugly Man
by Brad Fraser, Anna Christie by Eugene O'Neill, Love in
the Insecurity Zone, by Mike Folie, and Shakespeare's King Lear.
Several roles are being cast for King Lear, including Regan,

Oswald. For The Ugly Man, the company is looking for a
thirty-something male to play Forrest (who is deformed and deranged to a
certain extent), and early twenty-something actress to play Veronica (who
is virginal but with penchant for the dark side...nudity required).
For Love in the Insecurity Zone, roles include Gayle (who should be
in her early thirties, of medium build, intelligent and fiesty), Pearl (in
here mid/late twenties, smaller sized and full of energy), and Hank (who
should be played by an actor in his mid/late thirties, grounded and
leading man material. Auditions are taking place on April 27 and 28,
from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 to 5:30 p.m. Actors should bring
copies of headshots and resumes to the AEA Audition Center at 165 West
46th St., Studio B, New York. Auditors urge actors to prepare brief,
fresh monologues, preferably from plays not scheduled for the upcoming
season.
