THEATRE NEWS MARCH, 2006

Friday, March 24 - A play called Trouble in Paradise, which was adapted from the Ernst Lubitsch film, is being produced by the Hourglass Group.  It is scheduled to have a world premiere on June 14, 2006, and to run through July 8.  Rehearsals will start in mid-May.  The company is currently seeking several roles - all older men in their forties and fifties. Union actors are encouraged to audition, for the production has an Equity Seasonal Showcase, Tier II Code.  The roles currently being sought are Gaston, who should be in his early to mid-40's, and is a seductive jewel thief.  Major/Giron is a dual cast role and should be played by an actor in his fifties.  Major is a tense military retiree, while Giron is a corrupt executive.  Also seeking a butler to play a host of comic roles as well as a "Cook" to do the same.  Equity principal auditions are slated for April 6, between 9:30am and 1 pm, as well as 2pm through 5:30pm at AEA Audition Center, 165 W. 46th St, 2nd Fl, NYC.  Actors are asked to prepare brief comic monologues.  If unable to attend, please send headshots and resumes to Hourglass Group, ATTN: Casting, 520 Eights Ave, Suite 317A, NYC 10018.
