Friday,
March 24 - A play called Trouble in Paradise, which was adapted
from the Ernst Lubitsch film, is being produced by the Hourglass Group.
It is scheduled to have a world premiere on June 14, 2006, and to run
through July 8. Rehearsals will start in mid-May. The company
is currently seeking several roles - all older men in their forties and
fifties. Union actors are encouraged to audition, for the production has
an Equity Seasonal Showcase, Tier II Code. The roles currently being
sought are Gaston, who should be in his early to mid-40's, and is a
seductive jewel thief. Major/Giron is a dual cast role and should be
played by an actor in his fifties. Major is a tense military
retiree, while Giron is a corrupt executive. Also seeking a butler
to play a host of comic roles as well as a "Cook" to do the same.
Equity principal auditions are slated for April 6, between 9:30am and 1
pm, as well as 2pm through 5:30pm at AEA Audition Center, 165 W. 46th St,
2nd Fl, NYC. Actors are asked to prepare brief comic monologues.
